The modern injection molding industry require not only the ability of precise processing, but also three capability of “full 3-D mold concurrent design system”, “automatic manufacturing system” and ”lean production management system “. Nowadays, injection molding industry is playing a significant role for adding values to Information and Communication products. To fulfill the requirements, integration CAD/CAM/CAE with concurrent engineering concept should be implemented into mold design procedure. To face the new challenge, it cannot simply rely on high precision machine and automotive manufacturing equipment. The most essential point is to qualify mold design engineers. Therefore, to develop an efficient training program for mold design engineers is the most important task for being a modern injection molding industry. In this thesis, the “full 3-D mold concurrent design system” is divided into 3 major functions, which are CAX (CAD/CAM/CAE) integration, Concurrent Engineering and Cooperation platform. The indicator of professional capability is built up by evaluating the 3 major function of “full 3-D mold concurrent design system” alone with 3 mold design steps, and also applying the TQS (TraiQuali System). Utilizing the Professional Capability Indicator, the training program for modern mold design industry is developed. A case study of a mold design sector of an optical design company for verification and collecting feedback is presented. The research results would be an important reference for all modern injection mold industry or training organizations.
