More and more companies have planned or implemented the cloud computing technology. Applying the cloud computing can effectively help companies to enhance their competitiveness. What are the main considerations for most companies to adopt the cloud computing? What systems will they adopt the cloud computing? This research referred to the related documents and synthesized the decision-factors. This study uses Analytic Hierarchy Process method to explore the decision-factors in manufacturing industry. Hope to give some suggestions to IT decision-makers in manufacturing industry while adopting the cloud computing technology. In addition, by the result of this study, the cloud computing service providers can understand the main considerations of companies more clearly and provide more suitable services.
In the three categories of the main considerations in manufacturing industry, this research found the following results: the most important categories of all companies are &;quot;business demand&;quot; then &;quot;cost demand&;quot; and then &;quot;information demand&;quot;. In the all factors, the key factor is to assist companies &;quot;to response the the market demand quickly&;quot;. The second one is &;quot;to reduce the cost of the IT hardware and software investment&;quot;. The third one is &;quot;cost-effectiveness due to billing by usage&;quot;. Besides, the medium and large companies emphasize &;quot;business demand&;quot; category more than the small companies. The small companies emphasize &;quot;cost demand&;quot; category more than the medium and large companies. The major three systems that all manufacturing companies plan to adopt cloud computing are: World Wide Web, Electronic Mail, and Supply Chain Management. Most companies also think that Email is their core system.
