| Summary: | 碩士 === 逢甲大學 === 都市計畫與空間資訊學系 === 101 === In recent years, sustainable development has gradually developed into a global consensus, it is getting more important to different countries as of its environmental protection concept. As an environmental management idea, the core value of sustainable development is the combination of economic development and environmental conservation, emphasizing only maintaining a healthy environmental condition can sustain economic development in the long-run.
Old arguments of urban planning suggested cities and natural environment is in opposition, violated the concept of Eco-city, but in fact, urban and environmental protection are closely linked, the planning of land use do not simply meeting human needs, but also considering the ecological as well as the overall environment.
In this study I analyzed the practical experience of eco-city development as well as the assessed index studied abroad, conduct this research in a literature view, to discuss and compare the definition and related research. Eco-city emphasized that cities development do not only achieve a sustainable environment, but also sustainable economically. The conclution of this research could lead Kaohsiung develops into an Eco-city, and also be a reference to cities in Taiwan which were under similar circumstances.
