This study developed a hydrolysis method to produce high concentration of reducing sugar from agriculture residues(bagasse, corn cob, corn stover, rice straw, or rice husk) . Two pretreatment methods (acid and enzymatic) were evaluated. The result of acid pretreatment method showed the maximum reducing sugar concentration of 131.03 g/L and furfual 13.07 g/L via over-liming treatment by Ca(OH)2 and activated carbon to remove the inhibitors. The optimal condition for enzymatic hydrolysis by T. reesei ATCC 26921 was pH 5.5 and 55℃.The yield and reducing sugar concentration obtained from solid biomass loading of 200 g/L was 54.97 % (109.93±1.50 g/L). With a high glucose/xylose ratio of 0.75 The objective of the present study was to determine the efficacy of commercial cellulase as a sole enzyme source for enzymatic of reducing sugar production from corn cob. ABE fermentation with hydrolyzate of corn cob using mixed culture MC3 can get a maximum concentration of 3.238 g/L of ABE. The MC3 mixed culture was composed of mainly Clostridium sp.as determined by PCR-DGGE analysis. Alex C.-C. Chang 張振昌 2013 學位論文 ; thesis 88 en_US
