碩士 === 大葉大學 === 設計暨藝術學院碩士在職專班 === 101 === ABSTRACT Roots of a tree are seen as a source of vitality. Branches, the extension of the trunk, suggest flourishing life. Trees and human beings have been interdependent from primitive times to civilization. Based on Cherish Nature, I grouped a number of my works and named this theme “Woods, Groves and Forests”. I hope they convey my concern for the environment. Inspired by Western architecture, sculpture, painting and other artistic heritages which inscribed trees and forests, as well as exploring the background of artists who are relevant to this theme. By changing my emotional and rational perceptions I was able to transcend existing boundaries and produce work based on fresh ideas. My works are composed by using images which were taken by camera shutter and arranged in layers. They are made with metaphorical and symbolic scenery and have integrated the harmony between human and tree. Observing nature, then reflecting it onto my work, showed me a way of caring about, and sustaining, the balance of nature. These experiences and affections opened a window in my heart.
