Description
Summary:碩士 === 大葉大學 === 管理學院碩士在職專班 === 102 === The purpose of this study is to explore a Taiwanese professional baseball player's (Mark) career in Japan. The research methodology adopted in this thesis are qualitative interviews as well as document analysis. The methodology is based on Irving Seidman's (2006) three-stage interviews, taking Riessman (1993) interviews conducted for in-depth interviews. The results showed that Mark's athletic career can be divided into four stages: baseball period before leaving Taiwan, studying in Japan, drafted into the Japanese professional baseball period, and future prospects. The four periods are full of complex emotions, such as choices, struggles, tears, family affection, and honor. In conclusion: "Victory is not the only defining factor of success." The successful factors of athletes are composed by diverse conditions, which includes : the enthusiasm to pay for sports, emotional support, self-discipline perseverance and positive thinking. This research aims to provide different ideas of thinking about success of athletes .
