Four key explanatory variables are company size, tangible assets, intangible assets and marketing costs. The indicator of managerial performance is measured by returns on asset (ROA). The empirical results are as follows. Company size and marketing costs both have significant positive impacts on ROA whereas tangible assets have a significant negative influence on ROA.
