Summary: | 碩士 === 大葉大學 === 設計暨藝術學院碩士班 === 101 === His research, based on Affordance and semiotic theory, conducts product
design. Affordance, originating from the concept in the ecological psychology,
delves into the consumer-oriented behaviors, which further sparks the subconscious
of consumers. Besides, in the case of semiotics used in the product design, we can
understand the transformation where designers set out to design a product.
Seemingly, Affordance and the employment of semiotics in the product
design are polarized but overlap in many ways. This research aims to clarify the
grey area between the two design strategies and bridge them, so that when a
designer design products, it can help him minimize the misunderstandings among
users and maximize the designer’s understanding of users who grasp the simplicity
of products.
This research includes three phases. 1.Research leading-in part .2.Research
implementation.,3.Research integration. At first, collect and study bibliographies
associated with the research to reinforce the foundation of theories and the
information of cross-references in each phase and to conduct preliminary research.
Second, through cross-comparison and analysis between two different design
approaches, the second phase attempts to make clear the grey area and bridge them.
With the help of researching and comparing, we can understand the meaning and
product transformation of the new design approach in the design process. Besides,
after the researcher employs the simple simulation on pratical designing, and then
engages in innovative designing to appreciate the design process of this model. On
top of that, the researcher examines and corrects further the transforming procedure
between Affordance and semiotic theory; finally, the researcher participates in an
exhibition to prove the work.
