The result could be a reference for further related studies. Questionnaire survey and purposive sampling were adopted in this study. The study samples were from the five junior high schools in Nantou City.500 questionnaires were distributed and there were 470 valid returns. The effective return rate was 94%. The results were as follows: 1. Different genders made significant difference in the dimension of “personal factor” in academic stress. Girls experienced higher stress than boys. 2. Junior high school students of different genders had significant difference in leisure coping strategies. Boys had higher scale level than girls in the three dimensions of leisure coping strategy. Different grades reached significant level in the dimension of “leisure companionship coping” and the second graders obviously had higher scale level than the third graders. 3. Junior high school students of different genders had significant difference in leisure benefits. Boys had higher scale level than girls in the dimension of “physiological benefits.” Different grades reached significant level in the dimension of “social benefits” and the second graders obviously had higher scale level than the third graders. 4. Junior high school students’ academic stress was significantly related to leisure benefits. III 5. “Personal factor” of academic stress could effectively predict leisure benefits . 6. Leisure coping strategies could effectively predict leisure benefits.
