The elderly living by themselves encounter difficulties in finding someone instantly to assist with the regular tasks in daily lives from time to time, such as going to the hospital for treatments, preparing own meals, repairing house electronic devices. In addition, the elderly usually suffer from chronic diseases that require the family members or caregivers to monitor related data constantly (for example- the blood pressure) to reduce the risks of the diseases. With highly-developed Internet environment, the popularity of the elderly using social network website has gradually increased. However, the user interface (UI) of most of the existing social network websites and instant messaging software are not user-friendly to them. Therefore, the object of the research is to build a caring system through cloud services with user-friendly touch UI and to recruit volunteers with a variety of professional background in order to solve the problems for the elderly in their daily lives. The cloud caring system shall be as well as an ideal social network platform among their family, friends, or caregivers in terms of communication and discussion.
