This study thinks that individual’s coping of stress act partially as a role of mediation. Self-efficacy not only influences the sense of coherence but also influence the way of coping of stress; therefore, coping of stress would influence the sense of coherence directly. In this study, we aim to find that whether coping of stress might mediate the relationship between the self-efficacy and the sense of coherence. Methods: 690 college students participated in the research, and subjects decided to participate in the accidental sampling. The major variables in this study are gender, age, grade, academic achievement, social support, depressive tendencies, self-efficacy, problem-solving orientation of the coping of stress, emotional orientation of the coping of stress, and sense of coherence. The research used the survey method and the questionnaire consisted of the self-efficacy scale, the coping of stress scale, the sense of coherence scale (SOC-13), the multidimensional scale of support scale (MSPSS), and the CES-D scale. Results: This study found that self-efficacy can predict sense of coherence and sense of coherence depend mainly on how individual deal with his self-efficacy; self-efficacy has positive correlation with problem-solving orientation of the coping of stress, self-efficacy has negative correlation with emotional orientation of the coping of stress, and sense of coherence has positive correlation with problem-solving orientation of the coping of stress. In the relationship among self-efficacy, coping of stress, and sense of coherence of college students, problem-solving orientation of the coping of stress is the partial mediation of self-efficacy and sense of coherence, and emotional orientation of the coping of stress is not the partial mediation of self-efficacy and sense of coherence. Research background &; aims: This study intends to discuss the issues of healthy college students exploring sense of coherence and to investigate the relationship among self-efficacy, coping of stress, and sense of coherence.
