Description
Summary:碩士 === 中原大學 === 化學工程研究所 === 101 === Poly(2,6-dimethyl-p-phenylene oxide) (PPO)-silver-based nanoparticle (silver-based NP)/PAN hybrid membranes were prepared. The pervaporation separation performance was studied. By changing the amount of silver-based NP in the PPO matrix, this would increase the molecular diffusion path, resulting in enhanced selectivity. The dispersion of nanoparticles in the PPO active layer was evaluated by SEM and EDX images to prove that the interface was defect-free. The membrane structure was correlated with the pervaporation performance. In this study, the addition of silver-based NP would change the pristine PPO/PAN selectivity and permeability. Silver-based NP in the PPO active layer could get the interface defect-free. The experimental results indicated that using a PPO-5wt.% silver-based NP/PAN hybrid membrane to separate 70 wt.% alcohol mixtures at 25 oC, we obtained the following performance: the permeation flux and the water content in permeate were 378 g/m2h and 96.0 wt.%, respectively, for separating IPA mixtures; the permeation flux and the water content in permeate were 354 g/m2h and 98.7 wt.%, respectively, for separating MeOH mixtures.
