Summary: | 碩士 === 中臺科技大學 === 文教事業經營研究所 === 101 === The main purpose of this study was to realize the current situation of elementary school teachers' job stress and leisure satisfaction in Taichung. In order to achieve the study purpose, used questionnaires to elementary school teachers in Taichung City, research tool designed by the researcher entitled "The questionnaire of the job stress and leisure satisfaction of elementary school teachers." A total of 558 questionnaires were expected to be distributed. The number of valid responses was 545, and the usable rate was 97.67%. The statistical software package SPSS 12 was administered to analyze the collected data via descriptive statistics, independent-samples t-test, one-way ANOVA, canonical correlation and multiple stepwise regressions. The major findings were as follows:
1. The points of elementary school teachers' job stress in Taichung City were below the average. The most stressful factor is the “workload”.
2. The points of elementary school teachers' leisure satisfaction were above the average. The most distinguished feeling is “relaxation”.
3 The factors of those who felt more pressured from different variables:
(1) The male teachers who get higher scores on “overall working stress” and “relationship” than female teachers.
(2) The married teachers who get higher scores on “professionalism” than single teachers.
(3) The teachers whose working experience under ten years get higher scores on “overall working stress”, “workload”, “administrative support” and “professionalism” than the others.
(4) The classroom teachers who get higher scores on “overall working stress”, “workload”, “administrative support” and “professionalism” than the others.
4. The factors of those who felt more satisfied from different variables:
(1) The male teachers who get higher scores on “knowledge and skills” and “social relationship” than female teachers. The female teachers who get higher scores on “environmental aesthetic perception” than male teachers.
(2) The married teachers who get higher scores on “social relationship” than single teachers.
(3) The teachers whose working experience over twenty-one years get higher scores on “environmental aesthetic perception” than the others.
(4) The classroom teachers who get higher scores on “knowledge and skills” than the others.
5 There was a significant negative correlation between job stress and leisure satisfaction.
6. There are remarkable predictive power to leisure satisfaction in the two dimensions of the " workload " and the " professionalism " in job stress for elementary school teachers in Taichung City.
Finally, according to the results of the research, some suggestions were proposed for school administration, schools, elementary school teachers, and research in the future.
