Summary: | 碩士 === 中臺科技大學 === 醫療暨健康產業管理系碩士班 === 101 === Purpose: In the 21st century, the depression has been listed as one of the world's top three diseases. Besides, more and more teenagers get this kind of disease nowadays, especially at the age 16 to 18 .The high school students are one of the most serious generation. Those energetic young students can’t control their emotion well. Prevention is the focus of this study. The set objects are the high school students who have the potential tendency toward depression. With the help of meditation and jogging activities, those set objects can relax themselves and reduce stress. Furthermore, it concludes the effects of improving the melancholy tendency on the set objects.
Methods: This research is an experimental method and a purposive sample of 90 students. They are divided into 2 experimental groups and 1 control group. There are 30 students in each group. Do the activities twice a week ,and experimental duration is 5 weeks . The students in control group only fill in the form instead of doing any intervention activities. Each experimental group students have Mindfulness-Yoga and jogging train for 10 times before and after activities. Children's Depression Inventory Taiwan Scale (CDI_TW) and mental health of a simple self-administered scale (BSRS-5) are followed as the measurement basis.
Results: The activities including 10 programs took 5 weeks. Comparing the mindfulness group with the control group in the three parts which are depression tendency ,emotional state and psychological health of high school students ,the former improved by approximately 49.7% . It is the most significant difference ; On the sides of depression tendency and psychological health ,the jogging group improved by approximately 40%. It improved better than the control group. However, the control group performed negatively on both sides.
Discussion: This study shows that the mindfulness yoga and jogging activities could reduce the depression tendency of high school students significantly ,especially the former.The output of this study may provide the high schools a treatment to handle the students with depression , on the other hand, it is a non-invasive adjuvant therapy without any side effects.
