| Summary: | 碩士 === 中華大學 === 建築與都市計畫學系碩士班 === 101 === After the industrial revolution, with the rapid advancement in human technology and cultural development, our life has become ever more convenient. The global environment changes, however, in the opposition direction of technology, where extreme weather conditions and water and soil pollution have direct impact on living condition of mankind. Both professionals and academicians have made efforts in sustainable development research in the past, and have even incorporated the concept of ecological planning in sustainability in the recent twenty years, by applying to the most basic living model of mankind, which gradually evolves to the ecological community that we know of today. This study examines the development outcome of Xinshi Community, Hsinchu County from both ecological planning and community construction perspectives, and identifies factors that lead to successful ecological community development as well as any encountered issues. The results of this study may provide a useful reference for future ecological community development.
Based on fieldwork investigation and past literature review, this study categorized the ecological planning of Xinshi Community into three aspects – housing environment, community environment and participation of residents. Key items were selected from each aspect before residential questionnaires were carried out to evaluate the outcome and factors of performance.
This study analyzes the ecological planning development outcome of Xinshi Community as a real case study and explores the development process, ecological concepts and performance outcome. The results of this study may serve as future reference in the area of ecological planning of urban communities for better and more diversified development of ecological communities and living environment, whille achieving a balance between technological development and maintenance of natural environment.
