| Summary: | 碩士 === 中華大學 === 建築與都市計畫學系碩士班 === 101 === The redevelopment of Peunayong area has been seen as a primary issue on
revitalizing urban areas. In the case of Peunayong Downtown area, is in need of such rejuvenation/regeneration because this area considered as Central Business District (CBD) of Banda Aceh city which support the economic growth of Aceh people. In 2011 redevelopment plans for the area are underway; City Government has set out a proposal to redevelop both core area and its riverfront area. However, the program was not implemented successfully due to several obstacles. Therefore, in order to accomplish the goal of a revitalization of Peunayong area, the authors must first identify site problems and inhibiting factors, and then determine research questions to address the issues properly.
The purpose of this thesis is to define the strategy and conceptual design in
order to recommend new design that should be included in the redevelopment effort.
Based on research findings it has been found several strategies which include nonphysical and physical improvement. Furthermore, Recommendations for future
development are also provided. It is expected that this thesis could give contribution and support to the government to realize the revitalization efforts in Peunayong area as Central Business District (CBD) of Banda Aceh city.
