The derivative of Chitin is frequently applied in the market because it’s natural origin, especially for environmental and industrial wastewater treatment. And also, the derivative of Chitin has good inhibitory effect of common pathogens of the acne on human skin. There must be the preservative added in the cosmetic and skincare product in the market, which makes the great impact on human body and environment. Therefore, to make skin care products tend to be more natural, environmental and replace antimicrobial agents, while there are inhibiting skin acne and has moisturizing effect, we develop different type of deacetylation of chitin, to investigate the place of the existing cosmetic ingredient efficacy of antimicrobial agents in the evaluation and analysis. In this experiment, we develop different dosage of deacetylation of Chitosan (75%, 85%, 95%), and the 75% and 95% ones are acid-soluble, the 85% one is neutral soluble. Chitin with deacetylation has better inhibitory effect than the non-deacetylation one. We make use of Chitosan as an antimicrobial agent in the formulation for toner, lotion, gel, and serum, and observe from 0 to 48 hours. Founded that Chitosan still has excellent antibacterial effect after a long time. We also founded that it has great antibacterial effect in toner and serum according to different dosage; but not in lotion because of the surfactant and emulsifier we added in the formulation. The results showed that chitin has great inhibitory effect, and it might be considered to be used for the skincare products, for replacing the chemical antibacterial agents. In addition, we also developed the skincare products contain chitin for the testers, and do the skin testing(including moisture and oil secretion sensory evaluation.) after one month. The results showed that the toner and lotion with chitin has greater impact on increasing the skin moisture and decreasing the oil secretion that those without chitin.
