Therefore, it is easy to be affected by natural environment and human impact. Considering the cost, it is difficult to install fault detecting equipment at each transmission lines. The failure will cause interruption or voltage variation, so it is an important issue to find the fault source and restore immediately for the utilities and customers. At the bus without fault detecting equipments installed, a method is proposed to estimate the fault source location by performing simulation with ATP/EMTP. In this thesis, a fuzzy-based method is proposed and an actual 345 kV transmission system is simulated to verify the usefulness of the proposed algorithm.
