This thesis proposes a method for depth of field adapted autofocus and auto-exposure adjustment. First, we obtain the target area which the user is interested, and derive it's corresponding distance using the information recorded in the captured image file. Afterwards, the lens position and let the camera focused on the middle distance of all interested objects. Then measure those the sharpness of the areas in difference size of aperture. Finally, we can obtain a well-focused image on the regions of interest with the largest possible aperture setting and small depth of field effect.
