Description
Summary:碩士 === 元智大學 === 機械工程學系 === 100 === The objective of this thesis is to find out the effects of Non-Newtonian dynamic characteristics of wide slider bearings lubricated with micropolar fluids. Comparing to characteristics of plane and parabola wide slider bearings case. Based upon the micro-polar fluid theory, the dynamic film pressure and dynamic stiffness and dynamic damping characteristics of wide slider bearings lubricated with non-Newtonian couple stress fluids are mainly concerned. First, the Reynolds equation can be derived from the continuity equation, the momentum equation, and the specified boundary conditions. The effects of non-Newtonian couple stresses provide a reduction in values of the friction parameter. These improvements on bearing characteristics are more emphasized with increasing values of the couple stress parameter. A numerical example and the predicted results are also included for engineering application.
