Summary: | 碩士 === 元智大學 === 資訊工程學系 === 100 === In this research, an Android-based tablet with built-in MEMS, GPS, Camera, WIFI and Bluetooth interface, is adopted to retrieve real-time traffic information through OBD2 Reader. The information includes 3-axis accelerometer values, GPS coordinates, time, speed, RPM, MAF, ...etc.
The drivers’ behavior is analyzed, e.g., the relationship between the fuel consumption and different manners of acceleration, braking, stopping and sliding behavior. We conclude that on the local roads, the ratio of sliding distance to braking distance and the ratio of the sum of speed variation to travel distance have great impact on fuel consumption. In addition, a set of threshold values is obtained to determine the level of acceleration variation.
Moreover, we design a system which can provide scientific data related to the driving behavior. It reminds the driver about the main factors affecting fuel consumption through sound or screen information. While misbehavior appears, it warns the driver to improve his behavior. The driving behavior is recorded and can be replayed after the driver arrive the destination, including GPS tracking maps, moving videos, the charts of misbehavior, and the relationship between fuel consumption and driving behaviors. Besides, the driver can read personal or group reports, and then compare with his driving behaviors so as to achieve the effect of peer teaching. Finally, a paired t-test is made and it had been shown that this system significantly improves the fuel consumption and the misbehavior.
