One of the solutions is using biodegradable materials to make biodegradable plastic, so the plastic manufacture could be completely degrade in the natural environment. PHA polymers are one of the biodegradable polymers, which can be accumulated by microbes. So PHAs have been extensively studied as plastic alternative materials.
In this research, we isolate PHB degradable bacteria from the soil in the environment. We use PHB as the sole carbon source to isolate PHB degradable bacteria. After isolation of PHB degradable bacteria, we use 16S rDNA sequence analysis to identify the strains. Among the isolates, T four strains are belong to Pseudomonas spp. ( strains SI03, SI05, SI06 and KI08 ). The growth curves of these isolates were measured by optical density and colony forming unit. In the future PHB degrading ability and mechanisms of these strains should be further studied.
