Description
Summary:碩士 === 元培科技大學 === 企業管理研究所 === 100 === Deteriorating mental and physical abilities of elderly persons prevent them from sensing the presence of rearward traffic when using a vehicle or walking. In addition, there are many problems with the rear-view mirrors currently used by vehicles such as blind spots, inability to simultaneously view the area in front of the vehicle and lack of warning functions. The traffic safety devices available today are mainly designed for use by handicapped persons and not by the elderly people. As a result, the elderly often encounter problems and hazards when walking or using a vehicle. In order to solve these problems, the designer not only studied the physical abilities and attributes of the elderly but also followed universal design principals to design a product that meets the requirements of the elderly and to ensure the traffic safety of elderly road users. As product life cycles shorten, the development stage of new products has become more critical. To avoid only emphasizing the technical aspect and overlooking the demand side, this research utilizes conjoint analysis to find the best product demand attributes for consumers. This is then combined with the expert opinion analytic hierarchy process so that customer demand and product attributes are connected together. Lastly, the above research results are adopted by this research to design a new integrated product which allows the elderly people to drive free of blind spots.
