Magnetic drive has torque limit and overload protection, and it is the hot topic in academia and industry in recent years. The purpose of this thesis is to study the transmitted torque of magnetic gears. First, the reference those are relevant to magnetic gears for the last two decades are reviewed in detail. Second, to discuss the prototype and design parameters of magnetic gears, using equivalent magnetic circuit method to derive the analytical solution of the transmitted torque. Third, using finite element analysis (FEA) software, Ansoft Maxwell, to verify and analyze design parameters of the magnetic gear to obtain the maximum transmitted torque. Finally, according to manufacturing the prototype and measurement, we use torque meter to measure the transmitted torque, then compare and verify the correctness of analytical and FEA solutions. The results showed that the minimum error of measured value with the analytical solution is about 16 %. The possible reasons are described in the third chapter. The minimum error of measured value with FEA solution is about 4 %, and the maximum error is about 10 %. The possible factor is described in the fifth chapter, and confirmed the reliability of FEA.
