With the rapid growth in the consumer electronics, rechargeable mobile battery bank has proved to be the most satisfactory solution. The other words, it is an important task to create a fast and efficient battery charging method. The universal serial bus (USB) charging method has been a common current now, so most of the portable devices are charged from alternating current (AC) supply with USB. Primary-side regulator (PSR) is a high efficiency and low cost solution for power applications, and it belong to isolated charger that the input voltage is AC supply. In order to stabilize and to smoothly switch between constant voltage and constant current modes, the constant voltage and constant current loops are connected in parallel in this proposed PSR charger. However, the prominent difference between PSR and general regulator is that PSR does not have direct feedback loop to obtain output information. Valley switching and dynamic frequency switching are both set and applied in the constant voltage mode in order to perfect its efficiency and performance.
