Independent t-test and analysis of variance (ANOVA) were used to determine the difference in the proposed variables between the two leagues (i.e., America League and National League) for the past 10 years. Results: Batting averages for America League and National League were 0.383 and 0.328 respectively. The results from the independent t-tests showed a significant difference (p= .003) in batting average between the two leagues. However, no significant difference in batting average was found among different year. In addition, a significant difference in batting average existed among different positions. No significant differences in batting average, slugging percentage, and on base percentage were found among the eight teams in playoffs. Conclusion: The researcher concluded that most teams won the games due to high batting average. A team with a high batting average and a high slugging percentage might win the games.
