Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立臺北藝術大學 === 舞蹈理論研究所 === 100 === Looking back the traces of performing art in my life, I have been an audience, a dancer, and a choreographer. What I discovered is that the choreographers’ and audiences’ viewpoint is different from the aesthetic experiences of dance appreciation, so I start to concern how choreographers express their opinions with body language and make audiences catch and understand their expression. Thus, based on my experiences of appreciating dance, learning dance, and choreographing, I start my master thesis from choreographers’ dance making courses and creating experiences to research essentiality of choreographic knowledge and how choreographic knowledge transfers during classes. I adopt qualitative research to study contemporary dance making of Shu-Fen Yao, Min-Shan Hu, Wei-Min Wang, and Hwai-Min Lin. First, I make notes of situations of choreographic classes into thick description to review the courses of these four above-mentioned choreographers I take. Furthermore, through interview, I understand choreographers’ life about dance creation and creating processes. Next, I cite bibliography of aesthetics and dance phenomenology about choreography to analyze how choreographers constitute their aesthetic expression through self, body, and movement to form communication with audiences. Meanwhile, I analyze and compare contents and methods for these four choreographers’ dance creating and teaching experiences. Finally, I probe into the essentiality of choreographic knowledge to generalize the approaches of its transmission during classes. I hope what the master thesis provides can help more people to gain better understanding of dance through knowing choreographic processes.
