Her journey starts with the gorgeous show of Cirque du Soleil, and then she discovers the contour of post-colonized Macau, embodied in the magical-realistic atmosphere. The dentist, Ho Yep Man, is a local citizen who witnessed the Macau Handover, the opening of its gambling industry, and its endeavoring to become others. Following the Monte Carlo way initially, Macau then established itself as the Eastern Las Vegas gradually.
In Macau, the cobweb-like economy, whose main revenue relies on its gambling industry, affects all aspects of Macau, including the countless influences on Macau people. With the neo-lights shines at dawn, this city seemingly turns to be bright and starry, like a city jungle in just one night. Because of Its gambling industry, the promising vision of Macau shared by the community now has become all lies, and there is no bright future. The void is brought up, and this leads the old custom—to embrace the stability and progression—to disappear.
At the last night in autumn, Jeanie and Ho meet in Macau, and both of them find the city unfamiliar. They meet, and feel the sparks go up and up…
