Summary: | 碩士 === 國立臺南藝術大學 === 博物館學與古物維護研究所 === 100 === The culture of PingPu Tribes have declined gradually in nowdays. What’s more,the images of tradition are unfamiliar to people. Related theories also became confused in many ways ,for example, the costume. The costume of PingPu Tribes can be seen as one of the most vibrant sign. We can distinguish each tribe from their clothing. However, investigation about the clothing of PingPu Tribes has not been established completely yet. This study will discuss the traditional costume culture of PingPu Tribes. It consists of three sets .
The first part is about the development of PingPu Tribes , from seventeenth century to the end of nineteenth century , before the PingPu Tribe go through the Chinese-characterizing . By collecting every historical record and document which mentioned about PingPu Tribes from Dutch colony, Ching Dynasty, western travelers to Japanese domination period, to summarize the form , material, color and pattern of traditional costumes on every period of time. Analyzing the transformation of the PingPu Tribes costume under the time changing and the interaction with other tribes, the purpose is to construct the information completely and to establish a system of the costume collections in the museums and private collections under a historical background.
The second part is focus on the collections of traditional costumes of PingPu Tribes in the National Taiwan Museum. Through documentation and research of those collections , this study will compare those objects which are inadequate in relevant information to historical studies and resources , also basically analyzing those objects belong to what tribe. The study also tries to build a foundation which according to the patterns on costumes and it may become symbol of PingPu Tribes.
The third part of this paper is discussing about the limitation and obstacles when displaying the PingPu culture. It is worth notice that how to reveal the unique historical background of Pinpu Tribes in cultural interpretation of multiple groups. By observing other tribes which also have the similarity in development , to understand how they are presented in museums .Last, this paper also consider about the possibilities not only in preserving but also calling back the Pingpu Tribe culture.
