Summary:碩士 === 臺北市立教育大學 === 特殊教育學系碩士班身心障礙組(日) === 100 === The purpose of this study was to explore the needs of families of elementary students with autism, and to analyze differences of family needs under diverse backgrounds. This study located families of elementary students with autism in Taipei city as subjects and used the “questionnaire for the elementary schools in Taipei city” as instrument. Of the 42 questionaires were disseminated, 30 were returned and completed. The data was analyzed according to descriptive statistics, t-test, and one-way ANOVA. The findings are as follows: 1. Most questionnaires were filled out by the mothers. The parents' highest educational level is master’s degree or higher and their minimum is junior high education. The fathers’ occupation falls between business and industry, and the mothers’ is housewife in the majority. The marital status of most parents is normal. Most of these students with autism are boys. The primary caregivers are the mothers. 2. Five family needs include "economic need” and “professional need” which are categorized in the mid-level condition, and "information need", "psychological need", "service need" which are categorized in the mid or high level condition. Based on findings, further suggestions were delineated for the special education and social welfare system.
