Study on the integration of community resources in the urban sustainable community - A case study on Ke-Yuan Community in Hsinhsu

碩士 === 臺北市立教育大學 === 環境教育與資源研究所環境教育組 === 100 === New urban communities have been formed because of industrial activities as well as thriving economic and technological development in recent Taiwan. However, researches based on the above type of community are relatively rare. In order to understand how the community integrates its community resources for sustainable development, Ke-Yuan Community, Hsinhsu has been sclected for study. Data collections, document analyses and in-depth interviews were used as research methods. Semi-structural community interview outline on “The community resources and the integration of its resources in Ke-Yuan Community” were developed. In addition, reliability and the validity of this interview outline were verified. Interviewees include community leaders, volunteers, activists and community residents. According to the interview data analysis, the types of community resources in which the major and minor factors will affect community sustainable development has been constructed. By using the types of community resources to analysis the data of 649 community activities, the integration of community resources for sustainable development has been discovered. The result shows that there are many different organizations made by different ages. Besides the usual committee meetings, other community activities are often held. Six types of community resources including natural resources, humanity resources, environmental facilities, industrial resources, technological resources and social welfare and medical resources had been used for the developments in the aspects of sustainable environment, society and economic by this community. Humanity resources (79.87%), environmental facilities (14.02%), and industrial resources (4.47%) are the three major resources contributing to the promotion of a sustainable community development. Among the community resources, there are five subitems mostly used in the previous years, such as: organization operation (31.07%), emotional awareness (21.67%), human resources (18.39%), facilities (13.92%), and activities (7.96%). It is important to focus on “people” when one wants to promote an urban sustainable community, and it is necessary to prioritize on humanity resources, environmental facilities and industrial resources. The Community Development Association of Ke-Yuan Community is the integration center for its sustainable development. The environment and society sustainabilitis can be reached by integration of humanity resources, natural resources, technological resources and social welfare and medical resources in this new urban community. Furthermore, economic sustainability can be also come true by the community activities through integration of environmental facilities and industrial resources. Thus, we can see that even under limited resources, we can promote urban sustainable community development through the promotion of community activities and with the help of a healthy and efficient organization, community bonding and with the cooperation of the community residents. It’s also found that both of technological resources as well as social welfare and medical resources can’t be neglected for the urban community sustainable development in the future.
