Summary:碩士 === 淡江大學 === 東南亞研究所碩士班 === 100 === Because of the Asian financial crisis in 1997, finally resulted in the step-down of Suharto. During the post-Suharto era, from 1997 to 2009, through leadership of Habibie, Wahid, Megawati, and Yudhoyono, Indonesia is pushed to change from an authoritarian developing country into a more democratic one. This research will analysis the process and results of election in 1999, 2004 and 2009. This paper also looks into the development of main political parties in Indonesia. This research finds that Indonesia political party system would not be change to two-party system, and would be change to moderate multi-party system. Golkar have less influence in the parliament and unified government is normal.
