The internal timer in the three AT89S52 is simultaneously triggered when the GPS receiver module generates global sync pulse. Then three zero-crossings will detect circuit generation and simulate to-be-measured three-phase square wave in the same cycle of the three-phase transmission and distribution lines. The rising edge of the three-phase square wave will trigger the internal timer of the three AT89S52 to stop, and then the computed result will be sent to the register in one of the AT89S52. The AT89S52, of which the register stores the result, will later receive and fetch GPS signals in National Marine Electronics Association (NMEA) format, integrating the data and sending the result to computer. The result will be converted into angle by C++ Builder and shown on screen, letting users read the measured three-phase data and time information when the data is received. The methodology proposed in this research can lower the cost for three-phase measuring. Moreover, the GPS signals used in this thesis are easily accessible and secure, and the framework of the completed circuit is simple while the multi-functional interface for result presentation is also user-friendly.
