Those problems caused by the behavior of human land use and land management on ecosystems and landscape change. Land use and land cover change has direct and indirect impact on landscape changes, it can know the dynamic process of the ecosystem, and its steady state. The planners can understand the landscape interference for land surface changing. This thesis focuses on the Taichung, Taiwan central part. Taichung due to important geological location which is Taiwan important transportation pivot. Taichung because of climate and geographical environment liveable, so the resident population growth faster. The rapid urban development process, Taichung’s landscape change, whether it is human development and natural forces. Urban sprawl has threatened the habitat for wildlife in Taichung, its inner green land gradually reduced. Ta-Keng Scenic Area is the largest green area in the past of Taichung City. Taichung City and County upgraded to become the Taichung City on December 25, 2010, Ta-Kang Scenic Area close to the center of Taichung City,it is become a symbol of the ecological resources of the Taichung metropolitan area. The method of the study was adopted Landscape Index(Fragstats) in order to the process of the changes of the landscape patches configurations. In addition, four different years of which the years of 1976, 1991, 1999, and 2009, were used to explore the process the landscape changes in the four time interval, observe the Ta-Keng Scenic Area for nearly three decades of the relationship between landscape change, policy and local events.The results showed the Tai Hang Scenic Area landscape changes factors in addition to natural forces, but human disturbance. It is associated with disturbance of the landscape patch structure, and policy development will be affected the direction of regional development and local industry.
