碩士 === 亞洲大學 === 社會工作學系碩士班 === 100 === This research addresses self-presentation in lived world based on Erving Goffman’s Drama Theory. I utilize dramaturgical approach to analyze the Tai Chi Team in the Chiou-Cheng Community of Taichung for its sustainable community participation. Qualitative research comes along with long-time participant observation to build relationships as well as five in-depth interviews to collect data. Major Goffman’s concepts of self performance are applied for analysis, including team, stage, image, given and given off, impression management, role, etc. During the process of analyses, I follow the sequence of performance to discuss the origin of Tai Chi team. I then realize that what members have done during performance of community participation highly presented in their behaviors. The end of performance corresponds their ways of dealing with the team crisis, which presents a perfect interpretation model. During the process of my interpretation, I did not see the Tai-Chi Team members who show impression management with special maintenance; however, they play roles naturally and sincerely. Besides, I find that the Tai Chi team members have strong motivation to sustain their own team. I also find that they have strong identification to the team which show the characteristics of diversity. Each team member tacitly serves group with his specific way to maintain team’s warm atmosphere. I am touched by the unique united power and harmony of the Tai Chi team.
