However, the need of recreations differs among modern people. People hope to acquire health comprehensively in physical, mental and social aspects. Nowadays the income standard rises in Taiwan, and the consumption expenditures have switch from merely buying clothing and food to pursuing the enhancement of life quality. Therefore, conducting healthy recreational activities is one of the best future options to all the nationals. The purpose of this study mainly focuses on understanding leisure participation in current situation and leisure impediment factors of Reserve Command’s military personnel to recreational activities in Tainan City, Kaohsiung City and Pingtung County. This study takes random sampling as the method, sending 372 questionnaires to the military personnel in the Reserve Command of Tainan City, Kaohsiung City and Pingtung County, and receiving 342 valid questionnaires. The effective questionnaire-receiving rate is 91.93%. This study uses SPSS 12.0 as the statistics software, and conducts general description of sampling, factor analysis, independent sampling student t test, ANOVA, Fisher post hoc comparisons, and Pearson product-moment correlation coefficient analysis. The result shows as follows: 1.In the aspect of leisure participation in current situation: a. There is a significant difference between “outdoor” leisure participation in current situation and ages, marital statuses, martial ranks, service departments, cumulative service seniority, monthly disposable time, monthly leisure participation frequency, monthly expenses on leisure participation. b. There is a significant difference between “diversionary” leisure participation in current situation and ages, monthly disposable time. c. There is a significant difference between “habitual” leisure participation in current situation and sexes, ages, level of education, monthly disposable time, monthly leisure participation frequency. d. There is a significant difference between “cultural and artistic” leisure participation in current situation and ages, level of education, service department, monthly disposable time. 2.In the aspect of leisure impediment factors: a. There is a significant difference between “personal internal impediment” and sexes in demographic variables. b. There is a significant difference between “structural impediment” and ages, level of education, marital statuses, cumulative service seniority in demographic variables. 3. It is also significant between leisure participation in current situation and leisure impediment factors. As a result, it is recommended that we could not only broadcast this outcome during the gathering but also hold academic lectures and educational training to military personnel, making them capable of participating and enjoy the delight of participation.
