Summary: | 碩士 === 南台科技大學 === 資訊傳播系 === 100 === Cultural and creative, biotech, tourism, green energy, medical care, and quality agriculture are the six emerging industries of our nation. The year of 2011 was the “Year of Taiwan Design” and the first Taipei World Design Expo 2011 was also held in Taiwan. The cultural and creative industry is growing fast. In the past, the development of manufacturing industry had great contribution to Taiwan economy along with the R&D. Now, the sense of creative seems to be the core of the development of cultural and creative industries and all presented in any forms of design products. However, previous researches do not have much attention on the competitiveness of design companies. Based on the resource-based theory, the ability and capability of a firm are very essential to a firm’s competitiveness in the market. Moreover, these ability and capability of firms are also called as intelligent capability Therefore, the motivation of the present study is to employed the resource-based view to investigate intellectual capital of Taiwanese design companies by the method of Analytic Hierarchical Process (AHP).
The results show that design capital, design resource, design capability, and design competence are important to the competitiveness of design companies. This study also finds the quality of design products is of greater comparative importance to firm competitiveness.
