A methodology is proposed to build a run-time image for the overall system with Windows Embedded Standard 7 (WES7). The overall system integrates several peripherals such as thermal printer, RFID Reader, High-definition webcam, stepper motor, and USB-Key. The graphical WPF (Windows Presentation Foundation) administrating interface is developed. Thus, the developer can modify device driver component, system components, and the customized program flexibly. Due to the all-in-one design methodology, the proposed system can pass the medical instrument certification one and for all. Furthermore, a systematic methodology is proposed to build a customized run-time image for WES7 system. The proposed methodology makes it easier to get our system with up-to-date peripherals to market. That is crucial for short life-cycle peripherals on market. Tablet is employed as a demonstrating example to develop the embedded system.
