This study recruited 14 carrying-experienced workers to participate in the experiment. The independent variables of this experiment were grasp type (power grip, hook grip), carrying type (touched-body, untouched-body), carrying material (solid, liquid) and carrying distance (4M, 8M). The dependent variables were heart rate difference (∆HR), blood pressure difference (systolic blood pressure difference, diastolic blood pressure difference), rating of perceived exertion (RPE) and the maximum acceptable weight of carrying (MAWC). The results showed : (1) the MAWCs and RPEs of power grip were greater than those of hook grip; (2) the MAWC of touched-body carrying type (13.5kg) was greater than that of untouched-body carrying type (12.3kg); (3) the MAWC of carrying liquid material was greater than that of carrying solid material, while the RPE of carrying liquid material was lower than that of carrying solid material; (4) the MAWC decreased with the increase of the carrying distance.
