The retailers thus have 2 solutions: to rent or build the warehouse. From economy perspective, the former solution is often adopted. In addition, the literature has assumed demand rate is a fixed constant, but in fact, most commodity demand is affected by time and sale price. When time and sale price are sensitive, how the retailers decide the price and
strategy to optimize profit is a critical issue.
This study suggests that during a limited period of time, demand and purchase cost drop as time goes by, the own warehouse provides an optimal purchase strategy. First, we used mathematics to render the best solution. We incorporated characteristics of the best solution with Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO). Finally, we calculated the expression to demonstrate the reason and practicability of such model. This study also further discussed the sensibility of major parameter to explain the impact causing by change of parameters.
