Description
Summary:碩士 === 世新大學 === 企業管理研究所(含碩專班) === 100 === Recently, Department of Health, Executive Yuan has proactively integrated many hospitals to provide better medical care for local residents by integrating medical needs, medical resources, as well as medical service required from various cities and counties. Moreover, in 2011, a program was introduced with its slogan ‘Golden Decade.’. The social position of large-scale teaching hospitals has already been greatly raised. Competition between hospitals has become increasingly fierce. The trend of enterprization in hospital management pervades every large-scale hospital. Under the parallel development of hospitals, the competition of internal management in hospitals not only affects its social position but is also closely related with citizen’s life. Organizational politics is formed when members or groups attempt to protect or fight for the interests and resources by manipulating diverse powers, influence tactics or methods to achieve their behavior objectives. Although those activities politics that are not required as part of one’s formal role in the organization, it is powerful enough to influence, or attempt to influence the distribution of advantages and disadvantages within the organization (translated and edited by Li Qing-Fen, 2002). The reasons for the phenomenon and trend are different objectives and beliefs of members, scarce resources and power, allocation of resources, the mutual attachment among members that increase the frequency of employing political behaviors (Pfeffer, 1981, 1992) Few studies have been conducted regarding organizational politics by using hospitals as subjects, while political behaviors among doctors will not only affect the image of hospitals but also have substantial affects on citizen’s health. In this case study, National Taiwan University Hospitals served as a subject that allowed researchers to closely investigate the association of internal politic behaviors within hospital and its influence.
