It has much to do with Islam’s strict ethical standards and the implementation of its religious teachings in the regulation of business activities. In the 2008 financial crisis, the financial sector in Islamic world has appeared relatively stable, investors around the world start to show interest in Islamic finance.
Globalization has promoted the increase of economic interdependence between nations. Within these years, regional economic integrations are booming. East Asian countries are aggressively developing regional integration for economic cooperation. Because of its vast manpower, dimensionality, abundant sources and important location, ASEAN has played an influential role in the world by integrating those concepts into practice.
Islamic finance is experiencing remarkable growth in East Asia, especially in Malaysia, meanwhile Islamic financial market has become the focus of investments from non-Islamic countries, such as China, Japan, Hong Kong, and Singapore. For the past few years, Hong Kong and Singapore strive to become the Islamic Financial Center in Asia. This thesis is mainly to study the Islamic finance in East Asia. In order to figure out the track of Islamic finance in East Asia, this paper collected considerable secondary data to help readers have a specific prospect about the goods, the markets and the properties of Islamic finance in this region.
