| Summary: | 碩士 === 東吳大學 === 音樂學系 === 100 === Orchestral work Memory of JiangNan III was completed by Lu, Yen (1930-2008) in 1982. It is not only a microcosm of his early musical style but also one of the most representatives. This paper will use the theories of pitch-class set and set-complex to analyze the pitch organizations, relationships and its development in Memory of JiangNan III; furthermore, to elaborate how Lu, Yen used pitch-class theory to be one of his own composing techniques. In addition, the author also analyzes the orchestration of Memory of JiangNan III, and the melodies used in the work to discuss how Lu, Yen combined Western techniques with the Oriental elements as well.
