碩士 === 靜宜大學 === 管理碩士在職專班 === 100 === In view of the “Volunteer Services Act ", promulgated by the Ministry of Interior, promoting volunteer service to solve social problems and to meet community needs has become one of the most recent trends. Thus, the study aimed to explore the relationships among high school volunteers’ serious leisure, participation motivations, altruism, and leisure benefits. A total of four hundred and ninety-nine valid samples were investigated and analyzed by this study, and the study results indicated that there were positive relationships among students’ serious leisure, participation motivations, altruistic traits, and leisure benefits. Moreover, altruistic traits had a mediating effect on the interactive relationships of serious leisure, participation motivations, and leisure benefits. The study suggested that schools and the volunteer service organizations could improve students' participation motivations by upgrading the social evaluation of volunteer service. Through providing training programs and re-education opportunities relevant to the volunteer service and enhancing the images of the service club activities, the schools and communities can attract more students with highly altruistic traits to involve and contribute to their social environment. Besides, effectively guiding and encouraging students to participate volunteer service as serious leisure activity will be conducive to the sustainable development of volunteer service and its club's lasting as well.
