Adopting the questionnaire method, the study takes 1008 students from 14 junior high schools in Taoyuan County as the research subjects. The research tools include the personal background information chart, academic stress scale, scale concerning the stress coping styles and the general health scale. The obtained data are to be processed under the statistical analysis by using methods such as descriptive statistics, independent sample t-test, one-way ANOVA, Person’s product-moment correlation and multiple regression analysis. Finally, the research results are as follows: the major academic stress of junior high school students are caused by personal stress. In terms of the stress coping styles of academic stress, they mainly adjust to self-regulation and some of them face it with a positive attitude. In terms of the physical-mental health, severe depression is the least while social dysfunction is the most. Their sense of academic stress is below the middle standard. The stress coping styles of academic stress take the standard above the middle. Their physical-mental health condition is sound. Students in different schools show a significant difference in the overall stress coping styles. Students in different genders show a significant difference in the overall academic stress, their overall stress coping styles and overall physical-mental health. Students in different grades show a significant difference in the overall physical-mental health. Academic stress of students in junior high school is positively related to the stress coping styles. Their stress coping styles is also positively related to the physical-mental health. Their personal stress, parents stress, teachers and peers stress, face it positively, self-regulation and aggressive avoidance of stress can explain 29% variables of overall physical-mental health. Finally, the study provides relative suggestions in accordance with the research results as the reference of future research for parents, teachers, schools and relevant educational units.
