Summary:碩士 === 中國文化大學 === 新聞學系 === 100 === The article presents a cross-cultural comparison of newspaper coverage of COP 15 and global climate change in America and China as a case study to analyze their ideologies. Based on the results of descriptive statistical analysis and discursive analysis, the article demonstrates that the New York Times presented more viewpoints of sources on the issue of COP 15 and global Climate Change than People’s Daily. Furthermore, the New York Times delved more in the scientific evidence of global climate change while People’s Daily focused more on international relations. These findings show that different news regimes and cultures might have impacted the direction of their media coverage.
