The most serious issue is the infringement of an intellectual property right. The duplication of data in a digitalized world becomes relatively easy while such unauthorized copy and distribution is one big blow for the original creator.
The paper applied 2D-Barcode as the application of watermark image, where 2D-Barcode refers to the expansion of another readable barcode technology based on a linear barcode. We proposed an innovative idea of treating 2D-Barcode as a visible watermarking totem and embedding it into color images. We also proposed an embedding mechanism for 2D-Barcode watermarking, where the 2D-Barcode embedded into the images not only maintain the visual quality of images but most importantly that 2D-Barcode can be directly read of using barcode readers. The application of Human Visible System (HVS) and Contrast Sensitive Function (CSF) can add transparency to the images without obtrusion, and added with Noise Visibility Function to adjust weights on the complex texture blocks of images. We observed the characteristics of the entire domain and regional domain of photos from CSF and NVF in order to carry out visible watermarking embedding. 2D-Barcode can also be read directly from color images to accomplish the effect of direct data reading. Moreover, the lossless data hiding technique based on integer transform and block partition is added to restore the original images in approximation. As compared with other methods, the experiment results showed that the idea proposed is feasible. Hence, the proposed embedding mechanism is a better application in 2D-Barcode watermark than other methods.
