Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立聯合大學 === 化學工程學系碩士班 === 100 === This study is aimed to develop non-precious catalyst for proton exchange membrane fuel cells. Nitrogen modified carbon catalyst for oxygen reduction was synthesized by modifying carbon with nitrogen containing organic precursors. Nitrogen doped carbon catalyst was prepared from urea formaldehyde polymer. Preparation conditions were evaluated at different pH values, heat treatment temperatures and heat treatment times. Influence of surface pre-treatments, nitrogen and oxygen concentrations, and heat treatment temperatures on catalyst properties was studied. The catalyst properties were evaluated by RDE(rotating disk electrode), FE-SEM(field-emission-scanning electron microscopy), XRD(X-ray diffraction), FT-IR(fourier transform infrared spectroscopy), BET(Brunauer-Emmett-Teller method) etc. Results show that the hydrophilicity of carbon material can be improved by the sulfuric acid treatment. Hydrophilic surface increases the contact area between the electrolyte and catalyst. The solution pH value, heat treatment temperature, and heat treatment time was important factors for synthesis of catalyst. Highly active catalyst was obtained at pH = 10, then heated at 800 °C for 90 minutes.
