Among these, offering the cultural and artistic groups subsidies to strengthen their power has been one of the most important ways. Taiwan has started the plan of developing the Cultural and Creative Industries from 2002. By combining the local characteristics with the environment, based on the culture and creativity, our government hope to develop the related industries and then improve the domestic economy. However, there's still something insufficient in the system of subsidization and assistance for Cultural and Creative Industries. For musical and performance arts group, there are some problems, including budget shortage and unequal allotment, which the government have to probe into from the system. In this artical, there are three parts. First of all, by documents and records, we're going to talk about the relationship between the government and cultural arts, the role the government plays in the subsidization for cultural art, and how the government of advanced countries (America, England, France) balances the interaction with the cultural arts groups on subsidization. Secondly, our government organizations which work on cultural art subsidization will be introduced, incluing Ministry of Culture and National Culture and Arts Foundation, and the policies for subsidization will be discussed. Thirdly, we’ll take a look at the background of the Cultural and Creative Industries in Taiwan and how these industries are developed. Moreover, the impact which the subsidization policies make on music and performance arts.
