碩士 === 國立高雄大學 === 高階經營管理碩士在職專班(EMBA) === 100 === Taiwan Business Bank (TBB) was one of the outstanding banks assisting small and medium-sized enterprises (SME) in Taiwan. In the meanwhile, state-owned banks were the main stream in Taiwan banking industry. The business volume and profitability of T.B.B. rarely faced severe challenges and competition at that time. Becaue of globalization and deregulation, the banking industry becomes more competitive with financial innovation. Therefore, the challenge to the state-owned bank becomes an important issue. This study employs financial ratios analysis and Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) to estimate the performance of thirty-eight native banks in past five years and develops the strategies of TBB. The results are as follows: (1) based on the results of financial ratios model, TBB can enhance its business and market share by increasing the efficiency of funding operation, introducing new financial products with the trend of the market interest rate, and improving the capital adequacy ratio; (2) As to the result of bank efficiency by using DEA approach, TBB is more comparatively efficient than other domestic bank during the past five years.
